Today, I’m passing along a note from my client, Ann Vriend:
“Hello, AV here.
My bassist James Forrest is coming to Edm from Vancouver to play some gigs with a diff group (more on that later) and we both have Saturday June 27 free. We could sit and home and twiddle our thumbs — OR— we could play a private house concert! Guess which one sounds like more fun to us? I know it’s a last minute idea but I love love love playing music with James, I am so excited he is coming, and it would just be a shame if we couldn’t play a gig somewhere– a total waste of a great resource (aka brilliant bass player).
What is a house concert? A house concert basically involves you inviting your personal friends to your home, BYOB and chairs, maybe snacks, charge some $ at the door to cover some musician costs (b/c it’s last minute we wouldn’t expect much!), and voila: you’ve got a private concert in your own home with your own friends. And as a host you don’t have to worry about driving home, b/c you ARE home!
So, if you are interested in hosting one please let me know by replying to this email.
Cheerio,
av”
